As we expand into the UAE, we are seeking a talented MLRO to lead our efforts in operationalising our compliance framework, combating financial crime, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Position Overview:

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role, ideal for a Financial Crime Manager looking to expand their experience and take on their first role as an MLRO.

As the MLRO, you will play a key role in establishing and maintaining Finseta Payments’ AML/CFT compliance framework in the UAE. Reporting to the Director of Global Compliance, you will be responsible for developing local AML/CFT policies, managing regulatory relationships, and ensuring adherence to DFSA requirements.

As this is a new team, you will be expected to help with operationalising policies, including onboarding new clients and servicing existing clients.

The successful applicant would join Finseta Payments (DIFC) Limited as a statutory director, individuals should ensure they possess the necessary qualifications, experience, knowledge, and capabilities to fulfil their duties effectively.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Oversight: Act as the primary liaison with the DFSA and other UAE regulators on AML/CFT matters. File Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) as required

AML/CFT Framework Development: Draft and implement AML/CFT policies, procedures, and risk assessments tailored to the UAE regulatory landscape. Support the implementation and monitoring of our Global transaction screening, monitoring, and sanction check systems.

Training and Awareness: Deliver AML/CFT training to staff and promote a strong compliance culture across the UAE entity.

Risk Management and Monitoring: Conduct ongoing due diligence (ODD) and customer risk assessments. Assist in reviewing alerts generated by AML/CFT systems and escalating issues to senior management when necessary.

Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with the global compliance team to align local strategies with group compliance objectives.  Assist in preparing and submitting regular compliance reports to the global director of Compliance.

Industry and Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed on changes to UAE AML/CFT laws, DFSA regulations, and global compliance best practices.
